"Gran Baccano" Sangiovese IGT Tuscany
GranBaccano is the wine with the most body and structure that our organic winery Poderi Arcangelo produces. It is a blend compsoto mainly from the native Tuscan grape Sangiovese, a grape used to make Chanti, and smaller percentages of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. All grapes come from our vineyards, and winemaking up to ‘bottling takes place in our winery.
Maceration and fermentation of the wine take place in temperature-controlled steel vats. After that, the wine continues aging in French barriques where it remains for at least a year and a half. While tasting the wines we offer our guests, it is possible to visit the winery and Barriccaia where the French oak barrels of GranBaccano are located. After about 6 months of bottle aging, the wine is ready to delight our palates.
Ruby red in color and intensely perfumed, on the palate this wine gives spicy notes amid hints of ripe berries and lingers in the mouth leaving a sweet tannic aftertaste.
This Tuscan IGT is perfect with traditional dishes of Tuscan cuisine, such as wild boar stew and game in general, but also with our Florentine steak and also goes well with aged pecorino cheeses.
Chianti DOCG Riserva "Il Cantastorie"
Cantastorie is a wine made from sangiovese grapes with a ruby red color, round and structured with aromatic and floral fragrances, which our organic winery Poderi Arcangelo has been producing for years.
This wine comes to life from manual harvesting of the grapes in early October, followed by gentle pressing and long maceration, with selected yeasts, in small steel tanks. After this first stage, the wine is left to mature for about 1 year in oak barrels and before reaching the table it is left to refine in bottles for at least 6 months.
Tuscan Sangiovese, tannic and with an intense and elegant aftertaste, goes well with savory dishes such as game and venison, but is excellent when paired with medium-aged cheeses.
Chianti D.O.C.G. Riserva turns out to be a round and structured aromatic and floral wine is conducive to conviviality at the table and we recommend serving it at a temperature of 18-20°
Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG "Terra del Lago" Selection
Terra del Lago grape selection is the white wine that the Poderi Arcangelo organic farm produces using 90 percent Vernaccia di San Gimignano grapes and the remaining 10 percent Chardonnay grapes.
Grapes are harvested early in the morning in order to avoid the hottest hours of the day. Dry ice is used in the transport in boxes from the vineyard to the winery, always to avoid heating the grapes and preserve the future bouquet of the wine, which must be intense and fruity at the same time. The fermentation of this Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG takes place in steel tanks at a temperature of 16-18 degrees with selected yeasts . The alcohol content that is achieved ranges from 13-13.50%.
The color is straw yellow, typical of Vernaccia di San Gimignano grapes , fine and persistent aroma , the nose recognizes hints of peach, broom and honey, while the palate is fresh, savory and elegant.
Enjoy it at a temperature of 8°-10° not only as an aperitif, but it is especially good with shellfish-based fish dishes.
Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG Riserva "PerBruno"
Dedicated to Sandra’s father, Bruno, who together with his wife Maria started the ‘business of both an organic farm and agritourism in San Gimignano, this 100% Tuscan white wine from Vernaccia di San Gimignano grapes is one of the flagships of our winery.
Given its organoleptic characteristics, this Tuscan white grape variety is well suited to ageing. After the grapes are harvested strictly by hand, the wine macerates briefly in vats at a low temperature and after gentle pressing continues fermentation on the skins in terracotta amphorae.
The result is a wine with a golden yellow color that releases strong hints of peach and spring blooms on the nose, with light notes of herbs and vanilla. It is elegant on the palate, with good acidity and a mineral note on the finish, with slight bitter almond aftertaste, typical of this grape variety.
At the table it goes well with elaborate fish dishes, but is also excellent with roasted meats and aged pecorino cheese.
Sparkling wine "Prima Volta " from Vernaccia di San Gimignano grapes
Spumante “Prima Volta” is made exclusively using Vernaccia grapes, the typical grape variety of our territory, excellent for aperitifs and ideal when paired with Tuscan appetizers and fish dishes.
The grapes are vinified in advance, pressing is soft, and fermentation is conducted with selected yeasts at a temperature of about 15°, while its vivacious effervescence is obtained by the Charmat method.
This process gives rise to an extra dry sparkling wine with a pale straw yellow color. The palate is ample, fruity and floral; a vinification that best enhances the typical fragrance of Vernaccia di San Gimignano.
We recommend serving it cold between 6 to 8°C.
Chianti DOCG
Chianti wine from the Tuscan organic winery Poderi Arcangelo reflects the identity and tradition of our territory.
A wine made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, it begins by macerating on the skins in steel vats and then continues fermentation always in temperature-controlled vats.
After a few months, therefore, the wine is already ready to be bottled and enjoyed at the table to accompany everyday dishes and more.
With its ruby color typical of sangiovese grapes, this Tuscan red wine gives the nose hints of underbrush and musk final notes of spice. In the mouth it is fresh and the tannin gives way to slight fruity notes.
Pairing at the table involves not only not too elaborate first courses but also grilled meats and braised meats.
Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG
Chianti Colli Senesi wine is produced in one of the subzones of the greater Chianti Region, which stretches across the territory between the Tuscan provinces of Florence and Siena.
With its vineyards entirely in the territory of San Gimignano, the Poderi Arcangelo winery produces this red wine by selecting the best Sangiovese grapes late in the harvest, to which is added a small amount of Colorino grapes, a typical Tuscan vine that, as the name suggests, will add a hint of color to the wine itself. The grapes will then go to macerate in steel vats. Adding selected yeasts, the wine begins fermentation always in stainless steel in temperature-controlled vats. After bottling, the wine continues its aging for a few months and then is ready to be tasted.
The result is a wine with a deep ruby color, good harmonic structure and marked tannins. The nose gives fruity scents with slight floral notes. At the table, it finds its ideal pairing with pasta with traditional Tuscan sauces, such as Cinta Senese or Tuscan ragout, as well as with local sheep’s milk cheeses and Tuscan cured meats and cold cuts.
Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG Traditional "Primo Angelo"
Vernaccia di San Gimignano grapes are indigenous to the hills of San Gimignano and account for about half of our organic production.
Vernaccia di San Gimignano is a wine that has a distant tradition , already appearing at the end of the 1200s on the rich tables of popes and kings. A refined and precious wine with a golden color that recalls royalty.
Grapes are gently pressed using state-of-the-art technology, and fermentation is under controlled temperature with selected yeasts.
It will surprise you with its delicate, fruity aroma and dry flavor with hints of acacia and peach. Traditional Vernaccia wine has good body and can be paired with Tuscan cold cuts, white meats, as well as fish dishes.
Serve at a temperature of 10-12°
Rosato IGT Toscana "Il Giullare"
It is definitely the deep pink color that distinguishes our Tuscan Rosato wine from Sangiovese and Canaiolo red grapes.
After harvest, the grapes are pressed and allowed to macerate for a few hours until the desired color intensity is achieved, after which the skins are removed and the wine continues to ferment in temperature-controlled steel vats.
The result is a fresh, drinkable wine with hints of fresh fruit and red flowers on the nose, savory and lively in the mouth.
Always served chilled, this wine is perfect as a summer aperitif, but it also pairs well with simpler traditional dishes, such as our Tuscan antipasto with mixed sliced crostini and cheese or panzanella, the typical fresh Tuscan salad of stale bread with seasonal vegetables.
Vinsanto San Gimignano DOC
From a harmonious blend of San Colombano, Malvasia del Chianti, and Trebbiano Toscano grapes comes Vinsanto San Gimignano DOC.
Late box harvesting takes place at the end of harvest time ; the grapes are left to dry on reed mats in ventilated rooms until Holy Week-hence the name Vino Santo-
The healthy grains are then de-stemmed and crushed, and the must is first put into small wooden barrels then racked into sealed 2-3 hectoliter oak kegs where it will rest for at least 3 years.
During this time when the Vinsanto takes on body, no racking or filling is done; at the end of aging, the fortified wine that reaches about 17.50 percent alcohol content can arrive on the tables.
Typical Tuscan wine offered in country tradition as a welcome to guests and ideal paired with desserts such as almond cantucci, but also excellent with cheeses such as pecorino di fossa and spicy gorgonzola.
The color is amber and bright, while the aroma is flagrant and assertive with hints of apricot and walnut.
If you want to drink it as an aperitif we recommend serving it at a temperature of 5-7°, while if you want to enjoy it with desserts or cheeses it should be served at 16-18°.

Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
The Yellow Gold of the Poderi Arcangelo organic farm is our Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Fruit of a cold pressing process that allows the natural organoleptic characteristics of the Oil not to be altered in any way.
An elegant and fruity oil from the pressing of organic olives , a very important feature for us who are Organic Farm and live in total harmony and respect for nature.
The cultivated varieties of olives are typical of Tuscany : Correggiolo, Moraiolo, Leccino and Frantoiano ; the olive harvest is absolutely manual and takes place between late October and early November. The olives are pressed within 24 hours of harvesting to ensure the total freshness of the final product.
To ensure the highest quality of the product, only the flower from cold pressing is retained, and we do not perform any filtering. These attentions help to give our Oil anacidity that is between 0.1- 0.2 percent
Intense color, with reflections on green at pressing that turn to straw yellow with time.
The aroma is intense and fruity with green apple aftertaste, and the flavor is mild, absolutely nonfat.
